There are also a few tips from the pro's that will help smooth things out as well.Let's start with the tools. The enclosure is fastened to the wall where the baseboard is to be installed. This is done with screws of adequate length to reach the studs for a secure installation. Normally one and a quarter inch sheet metal screws will work best.Find a speed chuck that fits the heads of your chosen screws and use a pistol drill to fasten the backing section to the wall. This is done with at least two screws in at least two separate places to prevent movement. Longer baseboards will require more points or studs be used. Studs normally run every sixteen inches on center but baseboard need be fastened only every 3 feet or so at the top and the bottom to remain straight and secure.When I'm finding studs, I like to mark my studs on the floor with a pencil mark that I can just rub off with my finger later. Marking the wall does you no good. Once the enclosure is in place it will cover the marks.After you've marked the studs you'll hold the enclosure on the wall and screw right through it into the studs you've marked. Fasten both end studs and every three feet along the run.Once your done, pull on the baseboard and see that it is good and secure. If it's tight your ready to install the actual heating element into the enclosure. Brackets that come with the baseboard to hold the elements should all be installed at this point.Installing the Hydronic or Hot Water Heating Elements.Where's that heat coming from?The heat that warms the home with a hot water heating system, is originated in a boiler and then circulated through the baseboard by a hydronic circulating pump. This water must be piped to the remote location we're trying to heat.Normal baseboard heating requires a three quarter inch feed and return to and from the boiler. This can be copper or poly vinyl. The elements in the baseboard are copper and are connected to these feed and return lines.If you have poly vinyl loops, then adapters must be used to convert the lines to the three quarter copper that the baseboards use. These adapters are then soldered to the copper elements.Connect the ends of your elements accordingly and if you need to learn how to solder copper tubing then I have just the article for that education here;Make sure to practice on a scrap connection before trying to solder your baseboard pipes. Learn the process of creating a good solder joint and you will save time from repairing leaks. Always air test the system when your done prior to filling the system with water.After you have tested the system you can snap on any cover plates and end caps. Open the dampers and charge the system. Sit back and enjoy the benefit of a silent comfortable heating system that you can say you installed with little trouble.Hot water heating to this day, is one of the most comfortable and affordable methods used to heat a home. Have you ever needed a simple, low-cost latch circuit? Figure 1 shows such a circuit. It can provide power failure protection with components of only a few yuan. It is basically a thyristor rectifier (SCR) combined with some discrete components. The two transistors are normally off. To turn on the latch, you need to drive the PNP base to low level or the NPN base to high level until one of the transistors is turned on. This creates a collector current that turns on the other transistor, further turning on the initial transistor. The circuit performs the latch operation in a regenerative manner. The current is limited only by the power supply impedance and transistor characteristics, allowing the circuit to discharge the capacitor quickly.An interesting feature of this circuit is that you can establish the holding current of the SCR by selecting the resistor value. In order to keep the latch circuit open after triggering, the two base emitter nodes must have sufficient voltage ( 0.7 V) to keep it open. This means that if the current supplied to it is above VBE / R1 VBE / R2, the circuit latches. If a low current capacitor is connected to the latch circuit, the latch circuit discharges the capacitor. Once the current of the circuit decreases below the holding current, it turns off.Figure 1 uses discrete components to build an SCR with controlled holding currentFigure 2 shows a good way to use this circuit. Open up the drain valve on the tank and allow it to empty. Miller time. That is, unless you do not have a sump... NOTE: If the drain valve clogs, turn on the cold water supply to the tank to use water pressure to "blast" through the clog. 5) When the tank is empty, shut off the drain valve and turn on the cold water. This will loosen up more sediment in the tank through the churning action of the cold water in the tank. Let the tank fill partially and drain it again. In fact, if you find that the sediment starts to clog the drain valve, turn on the cold water supply to the tank, which will help loosen the sediment and blast it out. If you have extreme amounts of sediment, you may have to repeat this procedure a few more times. Look at the drain water... if it is running clear, you are done. Shut off the drain valve, open the cold water supply and allow the tank to fill. Once water comes out of the hot water faucet, the tank is full and your task is done! Now, you can turn the electricity or gas back on to heat the water. This should be done every 2 to 3 years.

Proper care also includes proper washing: Linoleum flooring is durable, but could degrade a bit under exposure to some types of floor cleaners, especially those with high alkalinity. Genuine Linoleum Is Not Vinyl Genuine linoleum flooring is not only durable; it's eco-friendly and naturally resists bacteria, mold and mildew. It's made from mixture of natural materials including linseed oil and substances such as jute, tree resins and powdered forms of cork and wood. Caring for a real linoleum floor is much like caring for a hardwood floor: A damp mop is often enough to do the trick, but too much moisture can cause damage. Vinyl flooring, which is sometimes incorrectly called linoleum, shares no traits with true linoleum at all, other than the fact that it's a durable floor covering. Vinyl flooring material is a sheet of vinyl made from several layers. On the bottom is the base layer; some versions include an underlayment that cushions the flooring a bit. In the middle is an image layer that contains a solid color or a pattern, and in some cases, a slight texture. The top layer is a durable sealant that makes the vinyl waterproof. Flooring manufacturers recommend pH-neutral cleaning products, especially those formulated specifically formulated for linoleum. A solution consisting of a squirt or two of dish soap per gallon of warm water does the trick for light daily or weekly cleaning-just be sure to wring the mop out thoroughly before washing the floor. Wipe the floor down again with a mop dipped into a bucket containing only water. Again, the mop should be damp, not wet. Dry the floor with old towels or let it air dry, only using towels for areas that need it. For deep cleaning or if the floor has a waxy buildup, try 1 cup white vinegar per gallon of warm water, along with a few drops of dish soap. Sprinkle baking soda lightly over the floor, then mop the floor. Mop again with just water, then air or towel dry the linoleum. This vinegar solution also helps remove greasy spots or spills. Removing Shoe Marks and Scuffs Where shoes or furniture move across a linoleum floor, scuffs can happen. Opt for gentle methods first. Rub the scuff with a gum eraser or pencil eraser first; the friction often lifts the scuff off the floor. A melamine foam eraser designed for cleaning also excels at removing scuff marks. Wet a corner of the foam, then rub the spot. If any part of the scuff remains, mix a little baking soda with just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the mark, then rub it with an old rag or dishcloth. Wipe the paste residue away with a clean damp cloth. For stubborn residue, try buffing the spot with a dab of baby oil or another water-displacing liquid on a rag. Wipe the area with a damp cloth afterwards, then a dry cloth, to remove any oily film. Tough Spots and Stains Linoleum is prone to staining, so it's best to wipe up spilled foods and drinks right away. Rubbing alcohol is the secret last-resort weapon for difficult-to remove spots after you've tried gentler methods. Pour a little rubbing alcohol onto a folded white rag. Avoid using red shop towels, as the dye may transfer onto the linoleum. Place the wet part of the rag over the stain and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. The alcohol should lift the stain.
